Panda turns Chief
The Beaumont Chiefs are pleased to announce the
acquisition of Dave Crowder as their new Head Coach. Dave comes to the Chiefs after spending
the last 4 seasons as assistant coach of the U of A Pandas and helping them
in winning 3 National Championships.
He is currently working on a Masters degree on Coaching. In his 20 years of coaching
experience from Novice to Midget AA along with the more recent University
level hockey he has moulded his coaching philosophy to lead by example and to
always be a positive teacher. In
hockey and in life he values hard work, fair play, good sportsmanship, and
most of all respect for ones self and others. Welcome to the Chiefs “where spirits are raised.” |

Chiefs Acquire Bison’s Murr-man
The Beaumont Chiefs are extremely pleased to announce the
appointment of Murray McCourt as General Manager for the upcoming 2008-2009
season. Murray comes to the
Chiefs with seven Heritage Junior Hockey League Championships and two
provincial Junior “B” silver medals in his tenure as GM of the Okotoks
Bisons. Since joining the Bisons
in 1995 there is little denying that McCourt assembled one of the finest
Junior “B” hockey clubs in the province. Leading the Bisons to six straight provincial tournaments
is what McCourt said he’s most proud of personally. Better known as the Murr-man, McCourt joins the Chiefs
this season in hopesof winning the CJHL championship and returning to the
2009 provincials in Cold Lake and bringing home the “GOLD”. |
The Chiefs say Farewll
As much as it hurts to lose a league championship
and a provincial semi-final this past season, nothing compares with the pain
of losing loved ones. For the
Beaumont Chiefs, that’s exactly what the retirement of the clubs head coach
and assistant coach amounts to.
Bryan along with Stan together have shaped the Chiefs from cellar
dwellers three years ago to two Challenge Cup Championships and the coach of
the year honor in the CJHL together with this years provincial semi-final
berth. They along with last
years assistant coach Earl Secord, will be truly missed but ever
forgotten. Thanks from all the
CHIEFS. Outstanding Job. |

Chiefs Honour Darin Wood
After the Beaumont
Chiefs home game on Dec. 8, 2006, the Hockey Club honoured Darin Wood by presenting him with a Chiefs home
jersey and making him an honorary member of their team. Darin previously played his Bantam & Midget hockey
with the Southside Athletic Club of Edmonton and was known for his speed,
grit and passion for the game. The Chiefs invited Darin to attend their fall camp and
try out for the team but a car accident prevented him from pursuing his
hockey career. Pictured in photo (standing) from left to right are Robbie Castle, Troy Lamash & Joel Eden. Seated is Darin Wood. These young men were team mates last season with the SSAC Don Wheaton Midget AA hockey club. |
